Simmons is an older and larger mattress company with lots of variety in their mattresses. Their main 4 product lines are the Beauty Rest, Beauty Rest Black, Comfor Pedic, and Natural care mattresses. If you ever seen the commercial with the bowling ball dropping on the bed, that was a Simmons commercial.
Just as the commercial indicates, Simmons pocketed coils do a great job at isolating motion between the two sides of the bed. Another plus to Simmons mattresses is that they generally do not need flipping which is good, because they are a little heavy anyways. Simmons has a fairly good owner satisfaction rate, but their Beautyrest NXG has a much higher rate compared to the rest of their mattresses.
Simmons can be a little on the pricey side for their mattresses. You can find most of their mattresses in the range of $1,500 to $3,500. They also tend to sleep hot, which is a common problem for mattresses with memory foam. The average lifespan for a Simmons mattress is around 6 and a half years. While this isn’t terrible, it’s not that great either.
Everything started for me when I started having back pain in the mornings when I woke up. I tried seeing a chiropractor and tried to exercise harder so I would stay asleep through the night. Nothing seemed to be working, I was just so stiff every morning that I didn’t know what could be causing it. Then I learned it was my mattress.
